Black Hills National Forest

• Mystic fire will be burning piles today approximately 7 Miles NW of Hill City, SD near Deerfield Rd, Newton Fork Rd and McVey Rd. Smoke may be visible for several days in the surrounding areas.

• Mystic fire (central hills) is burning piles today approximately 1 mile north of the 3 forks junction at Hwy 385 and Hwy 16. Area is adjacent to Whaley Rd. Smoke may be visible for several days in the surrounding areas.

Black Hills National Forest

• Mystic fire (central hills) is burning piles off of Boulder Hill, Sheridan Lake Road and the 385 Brush Creek area today. Smoke will be visible from the Highway 16, Rockerville and surrounding areas.

• Hell Canyon fire (southern hills) is burning piles 2 miles down Pleasant Valley Road, 1 mile SW of Highway 16 and the Stagg Road intersection, a half mile N of the Custer Airport and burning one additional pile, 6 miles down Pass Creek Road, SW of Custer, SD.

Black Hills National Forest

• Mystic fire (central hills) is planning to burn piles 10 miles E of Hill City, SD & 15 miles SW of Rapid City, SD today. Piles are located near the junction of Highway 16 and 16A (Keystone “Y”). Smoke may be visible in the area for several days following ignitions.

Black Hills National Forest

• Bearlodge fire (northeastern WY) is planning to burn piles from Moskee Road to Sand Creek to Surprise Gulch. Piles are part of the Mongoose timber sale, roughly 15 miles SE of Sundance, WY.

• Mystic fire (central hills) is planning to burn a pile 2.5 miles northeast of Hill City, SD. The pile is located near the intersection of Mitchell Lake Rd and Highway 385. Smoke may also be visible from Highway 16.

March 4, 2019

South Dakota Wildland Fire Division will be burning slash piles today and throughout the week in the following locations:

• Mount Coolidge area in Custer State Park
• Playhouse Road area in Custer State Park
• Tinsley Draw area in Custer State Park
• The Lodge just outside of Deadwood
• Beardsley Drive outside of Hot Springs

• Mystic fire (central hills) is planning to burn this week in the Victoria Lake Road and Sheridan Lake Road area. Smoke may be visible from Rapid City, SD and surrounding areas.

• USFS crews on Hell Canyon (southern hills) will be burning 3 large landings today near Pass Creek. Smoke may be visible for a couple of days.  Hell Canyon is not burning this weekend.
