The Black Hat Handcrew is burning slash piles on Cavern Crest Road near Johnson Siding off of Highway 44 today, Tuesday, December 17. Crews will continue to tend and monitor slash piles until they are dead out. Smoke may be visible for several days in the surrounding areas.

- The Bear Mountain Handcrew burned slash piles on S. Rockerville Road yesterday (Tuesday, December 10) and will continue to monitor them throughout the day.
- The Black Hat Handcrew will be igniting piles today (Wednesday, December 11) on Cavern Crest Road off of Highway 44.
Crews will continue to tend and monitor slash piles until they are dead out. Smoke may be visible for several days in the surrounding areas.

- Mystic Ranger District (central Black Hills National Forest) will be burning piles today approximately 5 Miles NW of Hill City, SD in the area of Deerfield Rd and Battle Axe Rd. They will also be burning by the intersection of Boulder Hill Rd and Sheridan Lake Rd. Smoke may be visible for several days in the surrounding areas.
