Black Hills National Forest Pile Burning, January 23, 2025
Hell Canyon fire is planning to burn 150 machine piles
(created from timber sale slash and tree thinning operations) over the next
week, 5 miles west of Deerfield Reservoir. Some of the piles are located near
snowmobile trails. Please use extra caution if recreating in this area.

weeks, 3 miles south of Carlisle Junction, 16 miles west northwest of Sundance,

Nemo SD, off Merritt Estes Road, as well as off of Hwy 14A and Terry Peak
Summit Road, 3 miles southeast of Savoy and 3 miles south of Brownsville, SD.

The Bearlodge Ranger District is planning to burn hand piles
starting today, 1/16/25, and continue burning over the next 10 days in the Cook
Lake and Bearlodge Campground areas. Smoke will be visible from I-90, WY Hwy
111, and WY Hwy 24.
